The aim of our after school clubs is to provide the children that attend with a wide variety of creative play opportunities that enables them to develop self-esteem, build confidence and life skills.
We offer a range of free play opportunities incorporating the play work principles and the EYFS. A selection of adult-led activities are also run throughout the sessions including arts and crafts, music, team sports and games, dance, drama, and cookery.

The main base for OCOSC is situated in Oldbury Court.
We collect from Frome Vale, Christchurch Infants and Juniors, Staple Hill School and Fishponds Academy
The main hall is filled with free play activities such as construction, role play, small world, cars, trains, football tables, pool tables, and a variety of computer stations. There is a large outside ball court area, a climbing wall, sand play, water play, fairy garden, a gardening area, a mud kitchen, as well as a play pod filled with loose part, tyres, and planks.
The club also has a designated under 8s area and garden, a designated over 8s area and a quiet homework room that functions as a library.
Children are collected from school and either walked to club or brought down on minibuses. A snack is available for them on arrival and the children are allowed to play freely or take part in the art and crafts that are put on daily.
3 PM - 5:45 PM
The after school club at Christchurch is based on the infants school site in the ‘outback buildings.’
Children can freely choose what equipment to get out each day; including construction, role play, small world, cars, trains, and football tables as well taking part in a wide variety of arts and craft activities.
The buildings join onto the school field for outside play; with access to a climbing frame and mud kitchen, as well as a sand pit and running track as we all having access to the school playground.
A snack is provided after pick-up. Tea is available at 4:45pm if required, at an additional cost.

The after school club at Chester park is situated in the main hall of the junior school
Chester Park Infants are escorted to the Junior site at 3pm. Like our main site, the hall is divided up into a variety of play areas, including construction, role play, small world, cars and trains, and a wide variety of arts and crafts materials. There is access onto their outside ballcourt, as well as use of the timber trail, and the field (weather dependent).
A snack is provided after school and the children are then free to play or take part in the art and craft activities on offer.
Wrap-around care at Avanti Gardens is located in a dedicated room within the school. Children have access to their own outside space, and can freely choose what equipment to get out each day; including construction, role play, small world, cars, trains, football tables, as well taking part in a wide variety of arts and craft activities.
Access to Avanti Gardens wrap-around is through the pedestrian gate by the gym, on Oldbury Court Road. Please note there is no doorbell – on the gate there is a phone number, please ring and a member of staff will come to the gate.
We continually assess and observe the children that attend and operate within the Early Years Development Framework.
OCOSC supports learning through working with the local schools and other agencies in the local community, and works closely with B.A.N.D. to support parents.
