Holiday Club
The aim of our holiday club is to provide an extensive programme of activities for children and young people throughout the period which schools are closed, to ensure that children have a safe environment whilst their parents work or study. Available at our main site (Delabere Avenue).
OCOSC organises a variety of trips away from the local area enabling many children to experience activities that they may not otherwise have access to (all of the activities are heavily subsidised through fundraising throughout the year).
Unless an organised trip is planned, children may be dropped off and collected at any time between 8am and 6pm during holiday club. We provide mid-morning and afternoon snacks, but children are required to provide their own healthy packed lunch.
Children are actively involved in the planning of the schemes and participate in activities that encourage and develop independence, confidence, and inclusion in their local community.
This is measured through continuous assessments, attendance levels, and the relationships that are built with the children and young people. OCOSC also work closely with schools and other agencies to assess the positive impact in the community.
